Understanding the concern
What to know before booking
A sports injury may be acute after a fall, collision or sudden movement, or develop gradually through overload. Fracture, dislocation, ligament or tendon tear requires accurate diagnosis and specialist treatment.
After serious injury is excluded, range of movement, strength, coordination, technique and training volume are reviewed. A passive procedure alone rarely resolves a recurrent load problem.
Osteopathic and myofascial approaches may form part of recovery when coordinated with trauma care and active rehabilitation. Return to sport is based on functional criteria, not simply absence of pain at rest.
