Preparing for IVF and overall wellbeing
IVF is not only a medical protocol; it can also place significant demands on a woman’s body, nervous system and emotional wellbeing.
At Doctor Pervushkin Centre for Restorative Technologies, preparation for IVF is viewed from a whole-person perspective, taking into account overall wellbeing, adaptive resources, and the state of the nervous and circulatory systems.
Assessing mobility in different areas of the body
At Dr Pervushkin’s seminars, five straightforward tests are presented to assess mobility of the head and cranial bones, the upper and lower parts of the chest, and the pelvis.
In the author’s view, this assessment can help identify tension and restricted mobility — somatic dysfunctions — that may be associated with wellbeing and the body’s adaptation to physical demands.
The place of osteopathy in comprehensive support
The centre uses gentle osteopathic techniques to work with identified areas of tension. This approach is presented as helping to create conditions for the body’s natural processes of self-regulation and recovery.
Osteopathy does not replace consultation with a reproductive specialist or infertility treatment. It may be considered as part of comprehensive preparation and support for a woman undergoing IVF. There are contraindications; consultation with a specialist is required.
